Belize is For Lovers
My best friend and her husband picked one of the most romantic places on the Earth to get married: San Pedro Beach in Ambergris Caye, Belize – talk about paradise. While I was there I was this close to purchasing a condo but my husband had the good sense to tell me to wait until we got back to the states to sleep on it.
Well, I’ve been sleeping for the past 6 years and I want to go back. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing any property at the moment but I wouldn’t mind buying a week’s worth of down-time, snorkeling, tropical cocktails, and paradise.
Solo Travel: To Blissdom in Tennessee
Last year I took a leap of faith and traveled to Tennessee solo to my first social media conference, Blissdom. I didn’t know anyone attending the conference but that didn’t stop me from going. Traveling solo, experiencing new people and things is a very thrilling prospect for me and one that I rarely shy away from.
Although there was a little drama getting there, in the form of a snow storm that delayed my departure, I had a fabulous time. I appreciated the warmth and welcoming nature of the organizers and volunteers. I got my first glimpse into the new age of brand marketing and the awe-inspiring power of women. And I had a chance to meet an awesome fella who wrote a book that has helped me deal with my immersion into Social Media. I’m a work in progress and still learning but that’s one of the main reasons why I want to return…to get another taste of the awesome sauce that inspired me for a year.
The venue, the Gaylord Opryland, was magnificent and absolutely beautiful. It’s size and magnitude replicates a small town and is quite fascinating. Although I didn’t stay there, I had the pleasure of taking a tour with some other travel bloggers that I met at the conference and who I’ve had the pleasure to talk to or work with after the conference.
I ended up having the very good fortune of winning the GE Profile washer and dryer set, the hubba bubba of the conference’s prizes. I was shocked to hear my name called but very grateful. It gave me a chance to bless a family in my church with my old, but relatively new set. I absolutely love my GE Profile set today just as much as I did when it first came into my home.
I’m very much looking forward to traveling back to Tennessee again to see family, meet up with people I’ve connected with over the past 12 months, and to create new relationships. If you’re ever apprehensive about going to a conference or traveling solo, please shoot me an email for a pep talk. Like everything else in life, it’s a great experience and it’s what you make of it.

Disney Family Vacation Giveaway in Honor of The Leap Year
It only comes around once every four years, so why not do something special for the Leap year like a little extra traveling with your family? And who better to help you celebrate it than Disney?
Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and Disney Land in Anaheim, California are both celebrating the leap day, February 29th, by keeping their doors open for 24 hours straight! Are you kidding me? Nope. Starting at 6 a.m. on February 29th, select attractions and entertainment will be open for 24 hours. It’s like a Mickey Mouse binge for Disney die-hards looking to play all day and all night long.
That’s not all folks. From now until February 29th, Disney is giving away a vacation everyday. To enter, all you have to do is text the keyword “DISNEYDAY” to the SMS shortcode “347639” (“DISNEY”). Message and data rates may apply. The vacation package for four includes:
- airfare
- accommodations
- theme park tickets and more
You can also enter online HERE for free. Limit one entry per day. And while you’re there, you can take a listen to a few celebrities talk about what they’d do if they had an extra day at Disney. What would you do? Me…it’s a toss up between the Princess makeover and riding Space Mountain over and over again. Hey, it’s a day, so I guess I could do both!
Good Luck. And be sure to come back and let me know if you won!
