Last Minute Shopping With Target Digital Gift Cards

Love gift sets – they make my life easier.

This weekend, last minute shopping is on my agenda…well, me and a million other people’s agenda. But that’s okay. Some of us get excited about wrapping up our gift shopping by Black Friday, some of us get it done by Cyber Monday and the rest of us don’t mind the last-minute rush. I’m last minute because I can handle it and I have my go-to spots that fail to disappoint.

That’s why I love Target. Although I spend way too much money in there even when I don’t mean to, I can pretty much count on the store 85% of the time to have what I need at a competitive price.

I specifically went there this morning because a friend told me that they were having a great sale on an Xbox 360 bundle (shhhsshh! Don’t tell my son). I also needed to grab a few more things for my youngest and stocking stuffers for other people. Luckily, when I went to buy the Xbox 360, I had a digital gift card that I pulled up on my phone, showed to the cashier, the bar code of which she was able to scan and apply to my purchase instantaneously. Bam! Now that’s #mykindofholiday.

I like the digital gift cards because I often leave my plastic ones at home and don’t remember them until I’m at checkout. Also, they cut down on waste.

Last Minute Gift Ideas

You can always find a nice stocking stuffer at Target. A few weeks ago, right before my Carnival Cruise, I bought a lip balm set for less than $15. Apparently they were popular – there weren’t anymore sets on the shelf this morning. Luckily, there were other similar gift items like gloss and scented lotion. Hey, that’s an idea for a lady’s gift, if you need one.

For the coffee and wine lovers in my life, there were a couple of things on sale that will work: a wine bottle bag for $9.49, a single serve Keurig for $99, and a coffee pod drawer for $16. Inexpensive, low fuss, and unisex, those are my favorite last minute gift ideas at Target that I can work with.

  4. I am so last minute this year. Between my 1 hr commute to and from work and church events every Sat this month, I was forced to shop online; therefore I’m not close to being done Christmas shopping his year. However, you did pose some great suggestions to think about as gifting.

Their electronic department is perfect for my husband because I can grab last minute gifts for him such as dvd’s, xbox games, or other video games. I should probably get out and finish my Christmas shoppping! 🙂

  15. OMGoodness! Target has about a million great gift items. I like Target’s accessories section for some gifts—things like gloves, scarves, hats, totes.

  19. Coincidentally, I have a Keurig brewer under the tree right now that I bought at Target for my wife for Christmas. I bought it the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but I wish I had waited because Target had 10% off this past weekend.

  22. I was able to buy two Axe gift sets (retail $9.99 each) for $5 for both. I used two $3 manufacturer coupons and two $2 Target coupons because you can use both to get this deal! My advice would keep your eyes out for these sort of deals for gifts!

  26. I like to get their popcorn boxes, fill them with theater candy and microwave popcorn and add a dvd or movie theater card for a great gift!

  39. Great last-minute gifts from Target include slippers, coffee, chocolate and other candy, lotion gift sets, books, and stationery.

  42. I love just gathering a whole bunch of useful things from Target and getting maybe a cute decor piece and adding it to a gift basket as Christmas gifts for the adults in the family.

  44. their dollar items up front are always neat and provide great ideas for everyone on the list. I shop there and get most of my ideas. you cant go wrong with coffee and snack goodies though

  45. Sometimes you can find great stocking stuffers in their discount area up front. I also get some great deals in their DVD section….they make awesome gifts for movie lovers.

  46. Some of the gift ideas I like from Target includes perfume, a men’s electric razor, pajamas, and Jewerly.

  49. Target has great gifts! Love the candles and home dec area, as well as all kinds of nice hostess gifts for holiday get togethers.

  55. Target has great a great selection of toys, as well as stocking stuffers for all ages (love the dollar bins!). They also have such fun housewares and fun office supplies. You could make great gifts out of those…pick a few and put them in a basket.

  61. I love the beauty section of Target, and could walk around for at least 30 minutes. I’m a sucker for the Sonia Kashuk line of products and it seems like every time I turn around they have a new natural hair product I want to try. I’d buy everyone on my list a beauty product and all it a day!

  94. A great gift from Target is the Soda Stream. You can make your own carbonated drinks at home. The Soda Stream is only about $80 so not too expensive for a gift.

  102. I like to get their inexpensive trial size perfumes, lotions, health and beauty products as stocking stuffers. A gift card is always a good choice. And getting some snacks and Christmas candy to decorate and entertain the table with for friends and family is always a hit!

  103. I’m done with shopping although some of the older kids will have to wait for their gifts. That was the only sad thing was that I wasn’t able to get them what they wanted right now. That $25 Target gift would be great because they love their shirts.

  107. target is great for last minute shopping as it has so many types of products clothes, housewares, electronics, books, etc. that I’m usually able to find something specifically suited to the person I’m getting a gift for….whether that be a camera tripod, cookbook or pjs. 🙂

  112. I love the section right near the entrance filled with weird, inexpensive stuff – PERFECT for white elephant gifts! A few years ago, I bought a cross-eyed plastic tiger there and every year one of our friends re-gifts it to another friend!

  119. Target has THE cutest socks…for the whole family (men, women, kids). They’re adorable. Those would make a great little present. I also love their kitchen supplies and framed art.

  122. Gift-wise, we only exchange handmade presents among the adults and Target has a vast selection of supplies for all of my projects. I like to upcycle, so I even use their iconic bulls-eye bags, turning them into wallets, belts, earring … by fusing the plastic and creating “material” from it.

  128. Make up and little pick me up items such as body scrubs, towels, hygiene items go really well in a pampered basket.

  132. My favorite Target gift ideas are their coffee mugs with their wide assortment of coffees and cocoas. Would I keep it or give it, I would keep it for when I know guest are coming, then replenish my beverage stock.

  141. their Marketplace food dept. with the own line of crackers and candies/chocolates is something that I always check out and want to buy to put in homemade baskets and such

  144. I actually did buy a Burt’s Bees set..it had facial wipes, lip stuff, lotion and a makeup bag:) So cute! We also bought fuzzy socks, chocolate, and nail polish for another gift:)

  149. I think one of the best ideas is the variety of board games: Hedbanz, Beat the Parents, etc. It engages the whole family

  159. I really like what Target had to offer! And they divided it up really nice and paid attention to all budgets. And offered great gifts at each one of those budgets.

  179. I am always on the lookout for those little target gift cards that come with something. I recently got one with a cardboard carnival target that you assemble in the gift card pack and that was very popular at the birthday party we brought it to. I also bought extra Equestria girls dolls when all of the My Little Pony products were on sale buy one get one half off. Now I can go to the closet and pick one out before the next birthday party. I also like the bath and body gift sets for men and women. Wish there were some for girls or kids but maybe that is just because my local Target is a small sized experimental one.

  181. Some of my favorites are assorted homewares–I love that owls are popular again and are easy to find in many styles. P&G sets are always useful–the ones for Gillette and Olay are always good holiday buys. Target also has a good selection of toys for the furry friends.

  182. Surprisingly, Target has a nice selection of Cat Litters, those are the kind of mama’s gifts I look for! Plus PJ’s are cute too…and they always have a nice selection of footies-soft socks

  184. Target is my preferred “dollar store.” I find $1 sweaters for my chihuahua, random notebooks for a dime, tons of beauty products on sale that I ay nearly nothing for with coupons. You can get some amazing deals on Burts Bees there! I love the Dr. Bronner’s shampoo and natural care items they sell. I like to put together gift baskets of small items for gifts. 🙂
